Art for Sale!

I have really enjoyed the opportunities to get more involved with local events. One of my favorite venues locally is Stonewall Farm. http://stonewallfarm.org/rentals.html

The Banquet Room there is just beautiful. From the high beamed ceilings to the massive stone fireplace, its so enchanting.

I had the pleasure of donating floral arrangements both for the Art Opening held there in April as well as the Art Auction held a couple weekends ago in May. Here are a few photos from those events. Thanks to Kendal J. Bush Photography for capturing the shots of the Art Opening!

Productive Distraction

Here is a peek into whats been going on in the studio. Enjoy!

This was done for the Celebrating Women Expo held at the Best Western in Keene on April 24, 2010. It was done in the colors of Monadnock Women, the host.

This was an arrangement done to display at Stonewall Farm. LOVE that place!
The above two pieces were for the Greater Keene Chamber of Commerce After Hours Mixer.

This piece was found at the Tenth Annual Art Opening at Stonewall Farm.

The above 'tuscan-inspired' arrangement was made for Mia Capelli on West Street in Keene, NH. Happy First Anniversary to Sue and the girls there. I have enjoyed becoming part of your family!

Something Blue!

Blue remains one of the most requested colors by brides when it comes to flowers and decor. There is a shade appropriate for every season and it has such universal appeal.

According to WikiAnswers: "...blue has been connected to weddings for centuries. In ancient Rome, brides wore blue to symbolize love, modesty, and fidelity. Christianity has long dressed the Virgin Mary in blue, so purity was associated with the color. Before the late 19th century, blue was apopular color for wedding gowns, as evidenced in proverbs like, "Marry in blue, lover be true."
I adore some of the ways modern brides give a nod to these long standing traditions. I think finding unique and personal ways to include blue details go a long way not only to making your wedding memorable but truly give it a timeless feel.
So how did you or do you plan to incorporate this lovely hue into your big day? What shade is your favorite?

Fancy That!

Every so often (okay, more like everyday) I come across something in the wedding industry that makes me ache to renew my vows. Here is the most recent (read: today's) item that inspires me to want to get married all over again.

Isn't it delicious? Anyone who knows me at all knows I have a soft spot for all things vintage. This dress is named 'Blair' and it is from Fancy New York. Their line of wedding dresses are inspired by the fashions worn by the inherently glamorous women of the 40's and 50's.

For the bride who is looking to channel Audrey, Jackie or Grace, THIS is your line! For more info visit www.dressmefancy.com

Something Borrowed

The borrowing tradition is important since it is meant to come from a happily married lady and intended to bring some of her own marital joy to this couple's new marriage. Lots of girls opt to borrow a special piece of jewelry, hairpiece or perhaps a purse from a beloved friend or family member. A fur wrap for a winter wedding or maybe a parasol for lovely summer bride would be stylish and unique! No matter what the item is, the important thing is that the bride return the item after her wedding day.

Something New...

Something New represents good luck and success and the brides hopes for a bright future in her new married life. The wedding gown is often chosen as the new item but it could be anything that is purchased new for the wedding such as the wedding flowers or the wedding rings. Wearing a new item on your wedding day conveys the message that you and your husband are creating a new union that will endure forever."

Every bride who observes the 'Something New' tradition has her own take on what the item to represent will be. While the "something old" represents the link to the bride's old life and her family, the something new signifies hope for the future.

So whether it's a spakling diamond ring, the perfect pair of Jimmy Choo's or that Vera Wang Gown, just make sure your something new is a reflection of YOU!

On a more personal note, I would like to take this opportunity to announce my own 'something new'. You may have noted the new button to the right of the page. Embellish Floral Studio can now be found at MyKateParkerWedding.com.

If you or anyone you know is planning a wedding anywhere in the New England area (or beyond!), definitely check it out! As a vendor who spent the better part of a year with a certain other "big-name" wedding planning website, I can tell you first hand mykateparkerwedding.com has it WAY over other similar types of websites. The website is location and budget specific, making it easy for couples to find reputable vendors not only in the area but within their specific price ranges. I also think its wonderful that a portion of each vendor's participation fee goes towards supporting some wonderful charities. So what are you waiting for? Head on over and start planning! Here- I'll make it easy for you!
